A Sports Town
Carlos Ruiz.-My name is Carlos Ruiz, I am 42 years old and I have had the privilege and benefit of being born in this small paradise called Rota. I consider myself a sports enthusiast. When I was a child I practised all kind of sports and for the last 17 years I have regularly done triathlons so I can say that Rota is the ideal place to do it.
Rota seems a beautiful balcony overlooking the sea and it is surrounded by 16 kilometres of beautiful beaches where I usually go swimming. I am also lucky to have a wonderful municipal indoor swimming pool where I can swim in winter. Rota has an incredible green lung thanks to its pine forest, a perfect place which a lot of sportsmen and teams use to prepare their preseason. Since 10 years ago, there is a wooden walkway which goes through the pine woods. Our Local Triathletes Club has organised for two years a very successful solidarity Cross where a lot of triathletes and runners from the province have participated. I am also lucky to be able to run in different natural places like the green line which goes from Rota to Sanlúcar de Barrameda and a lot of incredible rural paths surrounded by nature.

Rota is a reference in the cycling sector and has a lot of BTT enthusiasts who enjoy every day the beautiful rural paths above mentioned. In short, Rota is a small and nice village surrounded by incredible natural environments such as beautiful beaches, pine woods, green lines and rural paths which make Rota the ideal place to do a wide variety of sports and enjoy an excellent environment at the same time. Hope to see you all.
